You can pay to be taught a lot of things, but burning desire is not one of them.
Life’s been busy and I haven’t posted a pep talk in a while, but I just heard something that got under my skin, so today is the lucky day!
Life Hint: If a photography “guru” tells you the industry is in trouble in order to get you to sign up for a course that will help you to save your dream of being a photographer…. step away from the Internet, pick up your camera, and get out into the real world and make a fecking living with said camera.
You either have what it takes or you don’t. No course is going to teach you how to adapt to the tactics of the guru’s zombie herd. Let them all do the exact same thing, competing for the exact same crumbs. Meanwhile, you be you and create something unique and meaningful.
This is total truth, regardless of what it is you endeavor to do. This isn’t a lesson in the photography business, it’s a lesson in living. Just do it, already. You can pay to be taught a lot of things, but burning DESIRE is not one of them.
If you burn, you can earn. The burn is not something you can buy. You must already own it.
Now go do it.
